Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Melissa K. Copeland presided over proceedings for Antoine Leopold on June 18, during which Leopold rejected a plea offer and received a trial date.

Leopold, 46, is charged with attempted first- and second-degree murder, firearm use in a felony violent crime, first- and second-degree assault, reckless endangerment and multiple handgun violations. The charges stem from a Dec. 24, 2024, shooting that occurred on the 4000 block of Frederick Avenue.

The prosecution offered Leopold a plea deal of life, suspending all but 50 years, with five years of supervised probation. Leopold rejected the plea deal.

Judge Copeland set his trial to begin Aug. 27 before Judge LaZette Ringgold-Kirksey.
