Defendant Innocent of First Degree Assault, Guilty on Other Charges


A jury reached a not guilty verdict on the most serious charge facing defendant Jerome Davis before Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Jennifer B Schiffer on July 25.

Davis, 36 was accused of being involved  in a shootout with an unidentified individual on Oct.30, 2024 on the 2800 block of Woodbrook Avenue. 

Following deliberations, the jury found Davis not guilty of first-degree assault however they found him guilty of reckless endangerment, firearm use in a felony violent crime, firearm possession with felony conviction, and three other firearm possession charges. 

Davis has previously claimed self defense, and was the person who called 911 following the shootout. He sustained a gunshot wound to his right calf and was transported to University of Maryland Medical Center Shock Trauma. 

At this time the other individual involved in the shooting is unknown. 

A sentencing date for Davis has not yet been scheduled.
