A jury found Keon Samuel not guilty of all charges on Nov. 17 in connection to a non-fatal shooting that occurred last year at a gentleman’s club in downtown Baltimore. Meanwhile, two of his alleged antagonists face charges.
Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Michael A. DiPietro announced the verdict, acquitting Samuel, 32, of three counts of reckless endangerment and one count of discharging a firearm in Baltimore City.
According to charging documents, the shooting occurred on June 10, 2024, inside Norma Jean’s Club on the unit block of Custom House Avenue. At the time, Samuel, 32-year-old Bryant Scott, and 36-year-old Jason Sharp had been socializing around a pool table with several others while playing a dice game.
Tensions arose when Sharp and Scott allegedly confronted Samuel. The men reportedly shoved him repeatedly, and although the group were separated twice, the confrontation continued.
Video footage captured by the club’s CCTV system reportedly shows Samuel producing a firearm even after the fighting stopped. Moments later, Scott allegedly sturck Samuel, at which point he discharged his gun.
Sharp was shot in the hand, and Scott was struck in the leg. While Sharp immediately fled the club, Scott and Samuel remained on scene.
Scott and Sharp are each charged with second-degree assault for their roles in the fight.
