A joint request for a trial postponement was granted by Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Melissa K.Copeland in the case of 19-year-old Anthony Berry, who is accused of attempted murder in a 2024 shooting.
Berry is charged with 11 counts, including attempted first- and second-degree murder, first-degree assault, reckless endangerment, and several handgun offenses, stemming from a Feb. 18, 2024 incident that occurred on the 400 block of South Broadway in Baltimore’s Fells Point Neighborhood.
Defense attorney Natalie Finegar stated she was unable to access cellphone extraction data tied to Berry and had issues downloading all the evidence, preventing her from reviewing key pieces before trial. The prosecution did not object to the delay.
Judge Copeland agreed to reschedule the trial to allow both sides time to review the evidence.
The trial is set to begin on Dec. 2 before Judge Althea M. Handy, with four days allotted for proceedings.
