Death Ruled Homicide in 2012 Shooting Following Victims Death Ten Years Later

The Baltimore Police Department (BPD) has ruled the death of a 25-year-old man a homicide after he succumbed to his injuries ten years after being shot in 2012.

Daniel Schaefer died from his injuries on Nov. 24, 2022. The case was ruled as a homicide and added to the homicide count as of May 9, 2023.

Schaefer was shot on Dec. 28, 2012, while on the 6000 block of Moravia Park Drive during the course of a robbery.

On Feb. 4, 2013, Laquan Ferome, now 33, was arrested and charged with attempted first-degree murder, in this case.

Detectives are currently working with the States Attorney’s Office, to determine if new charges will be filed.
