A Baltimore man convicted for his involvement in the murder of 60-year-old Andie Wilson was deemed competent to be sentenced before Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Gale Rasin on Feb. 1.
During Wednesday’s mental health court hearing, Judge Rasin read from a report from Baltimore City Circuit Court Medical that gave the opinion that defendant Lamont Mealy was competent to be sentenced.
Mealy, 51, is scheduled for sentencing on Feb. 16. He is represented by defense attorney Sharon May.
In December 2022, Mealy was convicted of first-degree murder, use of a firearm in a felony violent crime, possessing a firearm with a felony conviction, and making a false statement to a police officer in connection to the murder of Wilson.
According to charging documents, the landlord found blood on an apartment door handle on the 700 block of Whitelock Street on Aug 5, 2020. Wilson was found on the floor suffering from multiple fatal gunshot wounds.
