Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Gale E. Rasin scheduled another mental competency evaluation for Brandon Adams, 19, on April 9. Due to the multiple postponements, Adams’ murder case has yet to come to trial.

Adams is charged with first-degree murder for his alleged involvement in the fatal stabbing of 14-year-old Cortez Lemon. According to previous reporting, Adams allegedly fatally stabbed Lemon during an altercation on a Maryland Transit bus on the 4200 block of Frankford Avenue on July 10, 2024.

Judge Rasin postponed Adams’ previous competency hearing on March 5 to April 9. During a competency hearing on April 9, it was revealed that Adams was on bed check awaiting evaluation, but no beds were available. As a result, Judge Rasin postponed the hearing.
