Two co-defendants involved in a non-fatal shooting rejected a plea of 20 years with five years without parole on Feb. 8 before Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Melissa M. Phinn.
Daoin Finch, Antwain Partlow, both 22, and Matthew Talley, 29, are charged with two counts of attempted first-degree murder, two counts of attempted second-degree murder, two counts of assault in the first degree, use of a firearm during a violent crime, and having a handgun on person in connection to an incident on March 28, 2018.
During reception court on Tuesday, Judge Phinn listened as the prosecutor offered Finch and Partlow the same plea for 20 years, five years without parole as well as five years on probation for use of a firearm during a violent crime and life suspending all but 20 years for attempted first-degree murder. The charges are set to run concurrently. A plea offer was not discussed, during the proceeding, for Talley.
Under the plea, the defendants must also register as gun offenders and stay away from the victim.
Finch and Partlow’s defense attorney’s, Robert Durkin and Natalie Finegar respectively, rejected the plea offers.
Trial for the defendants was scheduled for Aug. 1.
