Joel Lewis, 47, is charged with attempted first and second-degree murder, first and second-degree assault, reckless endangerment, having a handgun on his person, discharging firearms, illegal possession of a regulated firearm, and use of a firearm during a violent crime in connection to an incident on June 27, 2021.
According to CBS Baltimore, on June 27, 2021, at approximately 4:44 a.m. officers were called to the 1400 block of East Fayette Street for reports of shots being fired. They found a 48-year-old man suffering from gunshot wounds.
The medics took the victim to an area hospital, where he was in critical condition, police said.
