A murder defendant with seven prior convictions had this case end with a nolle pros on May 2 before Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Philip S. Jackson.
Davon Douglass, 27, was charged with two counts of first-degree murder, use of a firearm during a violent crime, and possession of a firearm with a felony conviction in relation to an incident which occured on Oct. 27, 2019.
Initially, on March 18, Douglass attended a bail hearing before Judge Jackson, where his defense attorney scrutinized the only witness to the murder.
The prosecutor relayed that the witness was unable to be located but, once found, the witness was able to make an identification of the defendant. Douglass was denied bail as a result of this hearing.
Judge Jackson listened as the prosecutor entered a nolle pros for the defendant.
Douglass was represented by defense attorney Benjamin Charlton.
The defendant has seven prior convictions including various narcotics charges, three instances of violating probation, as well as a second-degree assault.
According to WMAR News, on Oct. 27, 2019, around 4:51 p.m., 30-year-old Kris McCoy was shot on the 6100 block of Boston Street.
The victim was taken to John Hopkins Bayview hospital, where he was pronounced dead shortly after.
