A Baltimore man accused of attempted murder a year ago had his case dismissed on Dec. 10 at Baltimore City Circuit Court.
Counsel informed Judge Melissa M. Phinn that the case against 30-year-old Daniel Johnson was dismissed. Johnson was charged with two counts of attempted first and second-degree murder, two counts of first and second-degree assault, third and fourth-degree burglary, and six firearm-related charges in connection to an incident on Dec. 2, 2020.
He was also facing five firearm-related charges.
There was no discussion on the dismissal during Friday’s proceedings.
In October, Johnson’s defense attorney, Deborah Levi, raised concerns, informing the court that DNA evidence was contaminated and the prosecution didn’t have a victim. Johnson also rejected a plea at that time.
