BPD Arrests Woman for Loch Raven Boulevard Murder

In reference to the homicide that occurred in the Northeast District on March 6, Baltimore Police Department investigators have arrested 23-year-old Niyiraha Berry of Baltimore.

Investigators learned that Berry fatally shot and killed 29-year-old Denzel Brown while on the 4000 block of Loch Raven Boulevard.

On Monday, March 25, Warrant Apprehension detectives arrested Berry at a home on the 8000 block of Greenspring Way without incident. Detectives transported Berry to the Central Booking Intake Facility, where she was charged with first-degree murder.

On March 6, 2024, at approximately 5:45 p.m., officers responded to the 4000 block of Loch Raven Boulevard to investigate a call for a shooting.

Upon arrival, officers observed a 29-year-old male suffering from a life-threatening gunshot wound. Medics transported the victim to an area hospital where, despite life-saving measures, he was pronounced deceased.

Officers on the scene were advised that a possible suspect had entered a residence on the 4000 block of Loch Raven Boulevard.

Officers notified the SWAT team, who had responded to the scene, gaining entry into the residence, that the possible suspect had entered. They had cleared the location and did not locate a suspect or additional victims.

Homicide detectives were notified and assumed control over this investigation.
