The Baltimore Police Department is investigating a homicide in the evening of Aug. 20.
According to a news release, patrol officers were called to the 600 block of South Kenwood Avenue around 5:40 p.m. for reports of an unarmed robbery, where 60-year-old Victorino Malabayabes was being treated by medics after suffering from injuries.
Witnesses informed officers that the victim was approached by an unidentified black male, asking for a tissue. When the victim went to give the male tissue, the male grabbed the victim by the shirt and pushed him against a vehicle then thrown to the ground. The suspect then removed the victim’s wallet before fleeing the location.
On August 21, detectives were informed that the victim’s condition had turned serious and on August 22, the victim died at an area hospital.
The victim’s body was transported to the Medical Examiner’s office, where the death was ruled a homicide on August 23.
