A Baltimore man accused of homicide had his trial scheduled for February 2023 before Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Melissa M. Phinn on Aug. 26.
Lenny Epps, 42, is charged with first-degree murder, three counts of home invasion, two counts of use of a firearm during a felony violent crime, three counts of first-degree attempted murder, two counts of first-degree assault, second-degree attempted murder, and two counts of possession of a firearm with a felony conviction.
According to the State Attorney’s Office, Epps is accused of shooting three people days after a confrontation on the 600 block of Lakewood Avenue. A 17-year-old female was killed and two men were injured.
On Sept. 9, Epps, represented by defense attorney Ann Marie Gering, rejected a plea offer of life for first-degree murder; two life sentences for two counts of attempted first-degree murder; 20 years for the use of a firearm during a violent crime; and 15 years for possession of a firearm with a felony conviction. The sentences were slated to be served concurrently.
Epps’ trial is scheduled for Feb. 7, 2023, and is expected to last four days.
