Baltimore Man Accused of Attempted Murder Rejects Plea

A Baltimore man accused of attempted first-degree murder and numerous firearm charges has rejected a plea offer during a reception court hearing before Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Melissa Phinn on June 28. 

Antonio Edison, 52, is charged with first and second-degree attempted murder, first and second-degree assault, use of a firearm during a crime of violence, possession of a firearm with a felony conviction, illegal possession of a regulated firearm, having a handgun on his person, reckless endangerment, discharging a firearm, and illegal possession of ammo in connection to an incident on Dec. 18, 2021.

Edison was offered a plea of 20 years suspending all but seven for first-degree assault with three years of supervised probation and a concurrent sentence of five years for use of a firearm during a violent crime.

Under the plea, Edison cannot have any contact with the victim and must register as a gun offender. 

Edison and his defense attorney Roland Harris, rejected the plea. 

Edison’s trial is scheduled to begin on Sept 2.
