The Baltimore Police Department is investigating a homicide in the afternoon of July 7.
According to a news release, officers were called to the intersection of Light Street and Conway Street around 4:38 p.m. to investigate a reported shooting, where they found a 48-year-old man suffering from gunshot wounds.
The victim was transported to an area hospital, where he was pronounced dead by medical personnel shortly after arrival.
Investigators learned that the shooting occurred after an altercation erupted. The suspect fled the intersection on foot.
Investigators are currently combing through area surveillance footage and urge anyone that may have captured video cellphone footage of the incident or have information to contact detectives at 410-396-2100.
