A witness coming forward with new video evidence yet to be reviewed caused the postponement of a trial for a Baltimore man on May 20.
Terrell Parker, 28, is being charged with attempted first-degree murder, attempted second-degree murder, assault to the first-degree, assault to the second degree, firearm use, reckless endangerment, illegal possession of a firearm, carrying a loaded handgun, illegal possession of ammo and discharging a firearm with intent. He has another trailing case pending the outcome of this trial in connection to a shooting on April 13, 2023.
The prosecution said that evidence was handed over to the wrong person, delaying its review.
The trial was then moved to reception court under Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Melissa K. Copeland, where the prosecution requested the trial be postponed so counsel could review the new evidence and interview the witness. Parker’s attorney, Donald Wright, agreed with the prosecution, and Judge Copeland scheduled a new trial date.
Before trial, counsel will argue motions on July 16, with the following four days for jury selection and the jury trial is scheduled for July 19 before Judge Martin P. Welch.
