Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Melissa K. Copeland set an August 20 trial date for an attempted murder suspect after he turned down a plea deal.

Demetrius Wilson, 29, is charged with first-degree attempted murder, second-degree attempted murder, first-degree assault, firearm use in a felony violent crime, reckless endangerment, firing a gun in Baltimore City, firearm possession with a felony conviction, illegal possession of ammunition and having a loaded handgun on his person, regarding a Dec. 6, 2023, incident.

In a brief hearing on May 9, Wilson rejected a prosecution plea offer to serve an aggregate 18 years for the alleged offenses.

Judge Copleand scheduled the trial for four days, likely before Judge Althea M. Handy.
