On March 1, a hearing for a Baltimore man accused of attempted murder was continued due to his recent admission into Clifton T. Perkins Hospital.
Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Gale E. Rasin informed the court on Wednesday that the hospital was requesting an extension because defendant Daryl Harper has yet to undergo a competency exam.
Attorney Sharon Boggins, who represents Harper, and the assistant state’s attorney, had no objections to the request.
Judge Rasin continued the defendant’s hearing to April 12.
According to the Maryland Judiciary website, Harper, 44, is charged with attempted first-degree murder, attempted second-degree murder, first-degree assault, second-degree assault, reckless endangerment, firearm use in a felony violent crime, three charges of firearm possession with a felony conviction, a handgun on his person, a loaded handgun on his person, illegal possession of ammunition, and discharging a gun in Baltimore City in connection to an incident that occurred on Nov. 13, 2022.
