Attempted Murder Defendant Found Incompetent to Stand Trial

An attempted murder defendant was found incompetent to stand trial before Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Gale E. Rasin on July 31. 

Arnold Jackson, 53, is charged with two counts of attempted first-degree murder, two counts of attempted second-degree murder, two counts of first-degree assault, two counts of second-degree assault, two counts of firearm use in a felony violent crime, reckless endangerment, carrying a handgun, having a loaded handgun and discharging a firearm in Baltimore City in connection to a March 23, 2023, incident.

Jackson appeared in court today with defense attorney Marci T. Johnson and was told he was ruled incompetent to stand trial for the case. 

According to documents from the District Court of Maryland, the incident was on the 1600 block of Eutaw Place and two men were shot and wounded. The victims said they were shot by a man on an electric scooter. 

Jackson remains in jail and has not been transported to a medical facility for further treatment.
