On Dec. 10, a 19-year-old defendant accepted a plea deal before Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Kendra Y. Ausby.
Shannon Kanye Amaury Fletcher faced charges including two counts each of attempted first-degree murder, first-degree assault and firearm use in a felony violent crime, as well as possessing a firearm without a serial number.
Though jury selection for Fletcher’s trial had begun earlier in the day, Fletcher ultimately decided to accept the plea offer with his attorney, Avrohom Greenfield.
The prosecution offered 25 years suspending all but 10 years with five years of supervised probation for first-degree assault and a concurrent 10 years with the first five years without the possibility of parole for firearm use in a felony violent crime.
Fletcher will also be registered as a gun offender.
