Attempted Murder Defendant Accepts Alford Plea

On Oct. 5, a man accused of attempted murder, decided to accept a plea deal with the prosecution without admitting guilt.

Lawrence Allen Jr. is charged with the non-fatal shooting of a man on the 700 block of North Collington Avenue around 12:40 p.m. on June 22, 2020. His charges include attempted first and second-degree murder, first and second-degree assault, reckless endangerment, and seven firearm-related charges. 

Allen ,33, asserted his right to plead guilty but not admit that he did the crime.

Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Melissa M. Phinn sentenced him to 20 years, suspending all but four years, and two years of supervised probation, for first-degree assault.
