An attempted homicide defendant had his trial postponed on Aug. 23 before Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Melissa M. Phinn.
Damon Martin, 23, is charged with first and second-degree attempted murder, first and second-degree assault, reckless endangerment, use of a firearm during a felony violent crime, having a handgun on his person, and discharging firearms in connection to an incident on Jan. 24.
The prosecution motioned to postpone because their presence was needed in another trial.
According to CBS Baltimore, on Jan. 24, officers were called to a reported shooting at about 4:22 p.m. on the 3000 block of Monument Street. Once they arrived, officers found a 19-year-old man shot multiple times. He was transported to a hospital and is expected to survive.
It was not immediately clear Monday what evidence led investigators to suspect and arrest Martin in the case.
Defense attorney Marc Minkove will represent Martin at his trial, which was rescheduled for Sept. 23.
