Attempted Homicide Defendant Not Present in Court After Being Held in Central Booking

A Baltimore man charged with attempted homicide was not present in court on July 25 for his hearing before Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Videtta A. Brown.

Devin Lee, 32, is charged with attempted first and second-degree murder, first and second-degree assault, reckless endangerment and use of a deadly weapon with the intent to injure in connection to an incident that occurred on Jan. 7, 2021.

During the Monday hearing, Judge Brown was informed that Lee was not present and is currently not incarcerated for his charges.

Judge Brown ordered a bench warrant for the defendant for his failure to appear in court. She then ordered for the case to be postponed.

The case was sent to Judge Melissa M. Phinn for postponement when the prosecutor discovered that the defendant was being held in Central Booking.

Judge Phinn then ordered counsel to return to Judge Brown to recall the bench warrant for Lee.

Lee was represented by defense attorney Matthew Connell.

According to Maryland Judiciary’s website, Lee’s next hearing has not been set.
