All charges were dropped against a suspect in a non-fatal shooting on Sept. 10 at the Baltimore City Circuit Court.
Baltimore resident Tyrese Jefferson, 22, was charged in connection to an incident on Oct. 4, 2020. CBS Baltimore reported that Jefferson allegedly shot and wounded a 37-year-old man around 2 a.m. on the 500 block of Rappolla Street.
Three weeks later, Jefferson was arrested and faced two attempted murder charges, two assault charges, reckless endangerment, use of a firearm in a violent crime, illegal possession of a regulated firearm, having a handgun on his person, discharging firearms, and illegal possession of ammunition.
Judge Yvette M. Bryant presided over Friday’s motion hearing as the prosecutor explained that Baltimore Police officers and detectives attempted to find the victim using different databases to search potential addresses. The prosecutor said it was necessary for the victim to appear for both the hearing and trial.
However, the victim could not be located. Due to unsuccessful attempts, the prosecutor said that all charges against Jefferson were officially dropped.
Jefferson was represented by defense attorney Robert Cole.
