The Baltimore Police Department announced a homicide investigation into a fatal shooting incident that occurred during the early morning hours on March 12.
According to a news release, patrol officers were called to the 800 block of Stiles Street at approximately 1:19 a.m. for reports of shots being fired.
Upon arrival, patrol officers found an adult man suffering from a gunshot wound. Medics arrived and pronounced the victim dead at the scene.
Homicide investigators responded to the location and assumed control over the investigation.
Update: The victim was later identified as Olen Smith, 39.
