A 31-year-old Baltimore man, who was allegedly involved in a non-fatal shooting, was denied bail on July 19 as he awaits his retrial for his 2018 conviction before Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Phillip S. Jackson.
Blake Singleton was initially convicted of two counts of first-degree assault, two counts of use of a firearm during a violent crime and discharging a firearm in Dec. 2019 in connection with an incident that occurred in October 2018. The defendant’s case was remanded for a new trial on June 14.
Singleton, 21, was accused and found guilty of shooting at his two brothers through the windshield of their car.
Singleton’s defense counsel told the judge that the incident was a misunderstanding and Singleton’s brothers have recanted some of their original statements.
After listening to counsel Judge Jackson denied the defendant’s bail.
Singleton’s next hearing is scheduled for Dec. 6 at 9 a.m.
