Jury Acquits Attempted Murder Charge Against North Edgewood Street Shooting Suspect

A 26-year-old attempted murder defendant was acquitted of the most serious charges in his case, but found guilty of several weapons offenses by a jury before Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Videtta A. Brown on July 22.

Dariel Glenn, was found guilty of first-degree assault, firearm use in a felony violent crime, firearm possession with a felony conviction, having a handgun on his person, firing and discharging a gun, illegal possession of ammunition, reckless endangerment in connection to an incident on Aug. 27, 2023. Glenn was acquitted of both counts of attempted first- and second-degree murder.

Glenn was represented by Natalie Finegar.

According to prior coverage, during opening statements on July 16, the prosecution said the defendant allegedly shot the victim in the skull on the 500 block of North Edgewood Street. The prosecution stated the 59-year-old victim was acquainted with Glenn and was able to point out Glenn to the Baltimore Police Department.

Finegar said that the jurors would be able to identify discrepancies in the prosecution’s evidence. Finegar also stated the victim wasn’t reliably able to identify Glenn as the shooter to police.

Glenn’s sentencing is scheduled for Aug. 2 before Judge Brown.
