Testimony Continues in Fords Lane Murder Trial

On July 23, the trial for a 19-year-old homicide defendant continued before Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Melissa M. Phinn.

William Holloman, 19, is charged with first-degree murder, armed robbery, conspiracy to commit armed robbery, firearm use in a felony violent crime, conspiracy to use a firearm in a felony violent crime and having a handgun on his person related to the May 3, 2021, murder of 31-year-old Efraim Gordon on the 3700 block of Fords Lane.

During the proceedings, one of Holloman’s co-defendants, 20-year-old Omarion Anderson, testified in court.

Anderson said he was just trying to get a ride home on the night of the murder. He and 19-year-old Rasheed Morris got into a red Lexus driven by 22-year-old William Clinton–also known as “Big Will.” Anderson fell asleep after getting in the car. Both Morris and Clinton, who were accomplices in the case, face first-degree murder charges. Anderson pleaded guilty to first-degree murder in the case in May 2021.

Anderson also claimed he was unaware of the planned crime. He said he got out of the car to use the bathroom and witnessed Morris shoot Gordon.

After the shooting, Anderson said he and Morris fled on foot while Clinton and Holloman drove away.

Multiple surveillance cameras at the scene captured Anderson and Morris running.

In May 2021, Anderson identified Clinton and Morris to the police.

Holloman’s defense attorney, Roya Hanna, highlighted inconsistencies in Anderson’s testimony. Anderson initially stated he did not know Holloman during his first interview. However, a year later, after pleading guilty, he mentioned Holloman to the police.

In the afternoon, the trial was adjourned as Judge Phinn needed to meet privately with counsel.
