A first-degree murder defendant went before Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Yolanda A. Tanner for the last day of his trial on July 3 and the suspect’s location at the time of the crime was debated.
Kevin Dudley, 41, is charged with two counts of first-degree murder, as well as firearm use in a felony violent crime and illegal possession of a regulated firearm.
His defense attorney, Anne-Marie Gering called a digital expert witness who said after investigating that Dudley’s phone was located in the vicinity of his house, which shows that he was not at the crime scene when Kozee Spriggs,18, was killed.
However, the prosecutor argued that the mapping of cell phone records only showed where Dudley’s phone was approximately located, not where Dudley was physically at the time.
Dudley also gave up his right to testify and was assured that the jury could not use that against him.
Closing statements are set to begin and jury deliberations could begin after the July 4 holiday.
