Attempted Murder Defendant Remains Incompetent to Stand Trial 

Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Gale E. Rasin found that a 61-year-old attempted murder defendant remained incompetent to stand trial at his annual review in mental health court on June 26.

Mark Williams is charged with attempted first-degree murder, attempted second-degree murder, first-degree assault, second-degree assault, firearm use in a felony violent crime and reckless endangerment for a 2021 shooting. 

According to documents from the District Court of Maryland, Williams allegedly shot a man outside of his Annapolis Road residence on Oct. 7, 2021. 

During the hearing, he was represented by Janet Andersen, who was standing in for Thomas Rafter. His next hearing will be on Jan. 8, 2024.
