On May 20, at around 10:12 p.m., Baltimore Police Department officers responded to the 3900 block of Ridgewood Avenue to assist the Fire Department.
Upon arrival, officers observed 39-year-old Phillip Smith suffering from a life-threatening stab wound. Medics pronounced the victim deceased on the scene.
Homicide detectives were notified and assumed control over this investigation. The Medical Examiner’s Office responded and took possession of the victim’s body and will conduct an autopsy to determine the cause of death and identity.
