In reference to the shooting that occurred in the Southern District on March 11, Baltimore Police Department investigators have arrested 34-year-old Chavez Mitchell of Baltimore.
Detectives learned Mitchell shot the 32-year-old male victim during a dispute between multiple parties.
Warrant Apprehension Detectives arrested Chavez Mitchell on May 17 and transported him to the Central Booking Intake Facility, where he has been charged with attempted first-degree murder.
On March 11, 2024, at approximately 2:41 p.m., Southern District patrol officers responded to the 3000 block of South Hanover Street for a walk-in shooting victim seeking treatment.
Upon arrival, officers located a 32-year-old male victim suffering from an apparent gunshot wound to the upper body. The victim is listed in stable condition.
Preliminary investigation revealed that the victim was in an altercation on the 2800 block of Carver Road and drove to Harbor Hospital, where a suspect followed the victim and shot the victim while he was in the vehicle. A crime scene was located in the parking lot of the hospital. Several persons of interest have been taken into custody.
