On April 24, an 18-year-old non-fatal shooting defendant accepted a plea deal before Baltimore City Circuit Court’s Judge Melissa K. Copeland

Khalil Brown is charged with possession of a firearm as a minor, firearm use in a felony violent crime, second-degree assault, reckless endangerment, transporting a handgun, wearing and carrying a gun and discharging a firearm in connection to an incident on Sept. 21, 2023.

Judge Copeland listened as the prosecution presented an offer of five years, suspending all but two years, for the charge of having a loaded handgun on his person, with five years of probation and gun offender registration upon release in a separate case.

The other charges in relation to the incident on Sept. 21, 2023, were dropped in exchange for Brown’s guilty plea.

Brown was represented by Catherine Tarantino.
