On April 12, a 34-year-old defendant appeared for a jury trial before Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Robert K. Taylor, Jr,, but his case was dropped.
Jose Valladares-Morales was charged with having a loaded handgun on his person, having a handgun on his person, firing a gun within Baltimore City, carrying a handgun within 100 yards of a school and altering a firearm ID number in connection to a Jan. 1 incident.
The prosecutor entered a nolle prosequi notice at the hearing signaling a decision not to prosecute the case, which was acceptable to defense attorney Annamaria V. Santini.
Judge Taylor agreed to formalize the dismissal.
