On March 27, the jury rendered its verdict to Desmond Powell before Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge John A. Howard.
Powell, 25, accompanied by his defense attorney, Brandon Taylor, was found guilty of first-degree assault, reckless endangerment, having a gun on his person, illegal possession of a firearm, illegal possession of ammunition and firearm use in a felony violent crime.
Powell was found not guilty of attempted first- and second-degree murder.
According to previous reports, a confrontation between Powell and a 25-year-old man on July 17, 2022, got physical when he reached for a gun.
Powell’s sentencing date is set for July 7.
