On March 15, counsel postponed a murder trial for a 22-year-old defendant.

Jared Ford is charged with first-degree murder, firearm use in a felony violent crime, having a loaded handgun in a vehicle, having a loaded handgun on his person, firearm possession with a felony conviction, illegal possession of a regulated firearm, attempted first-degree murder, conspiracy to commit first-degree murder in connection to a Feb. 26, 2023, incident.

Defense attorney Roya Hanna requested a postponement due to recently receiving the final cell phone records report from the prosecution. She stated she would seek an expert to look at the data and generate an independent report.

Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Melissa K. Copeland granted the postponement and scheduled Ford’s five-day trial to begin on July 9. Judge Gregory Sampson will preside over the trial.
