On Tuesday, Feb. 29, Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Melissa K. Copeland scheduled an attempted murder trial set to start June 26 in front of Judge Cynthia H. Jones.
The 24-year-old defendant, Kyre Redd-Harris, is charged with attempted first-degree murder, attempted second-degree murder, first-degree assault, second-degree assault, reckless endangerment, firearm use in a felony violent crime, illegal possession of a regulated firearm, having a loaded handgun on his person, having a handgun in a vehicle, discharging a gun within Baltimore City, carrying a handgun within 100 yards of the public and illegal possession of ammunition in relation to a non-fatal shooting incident that occurred April 25, 2023.
Redd-Harris is now being represented by defense attorney Augustine Okeke, due to Redd-Harris’ prior defense attorney, James L. Rhodes’ recent appointment to the Baltimore County Circuit Court bench.
The trial is expected to last three days.
Documents obtained through the District Court of Maryland state that Baltimore Police Department (BPD) investigators suspect Redd-Harris of shooting a man behind a Checkers restaurant located on the 6600 block of Reisterstown Road while a drug transaction occurred.
