Non-Fatal Shooting Defendant Rejects Five Year Plea Deal

On Feb. 15, Lemel Walker received an April trial date from Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Melissa K. Copeland. 

Walker is charged with a firearm/drug trafficking crime, carrying a loaded handgun, discharging a gun in Baltimore City and possession of narcotics with the intent to distribute. 

For carrying a loaded handgun, the prosecution offered Walker five years in prison and a requirement to register as a gun offender. 

Walker and his defense attorney, Christopher O’Meara, rejected the offer. 

Judge Copeland then scheduled a one-day jury trial for April 5 in front of Judge Althea M. Handy
