Pedestrian Killed Chasing Loose Dog

On Nov. 3, at approximately 8:12 p.m., Baltimore Police Department officers responded to the 3800 block of West Belvedere Avenue to investigate a pedestrian struck. 

Upon arrival, officers were advised that a 62-year-old female was struck by a vehicle.

Preliminary investigation revealed that the 62-year-old female was attempting to catch her dog, who had gotten loose on the 3800 block of West Belvedere Avenue, when she had darted into the street in an attempt to catch her dog when she was struck by a vehicle. The driver of the vehicle stayed on the scene.

Medics transported the 62-year-old female to Sinai Hospital, where she was pronounced deceased on Nov. 9.

AIU investigators have assumed control over this investigation.
