On Oct. 12, Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Melissa M. Phinn scheduled a homicide defendant’s trial.
Keith Anderson is charged with first-degree murder, use of a firearm in a felony violent crime and possessing a firearm with a felony conviction in connection to the June 2022 death of Markeece Jordan.
Anderson, 44, was represented by Romel Showell, who was standing in for Anderson’s public defender, Michael Cooper, who was unable to attend the hearing.
The trial is set for the date of Feb. 5, 2024. Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Videtta A. Brown will preside. The trial is expected to last five days.
Anderson is charged in connection with an incident that occurred on June 22, 2022. Charging documents state Baltimore Police Department (BPD) officers responded to a BP gas station on the 1900 block of Belair Road following reports there was an unresponsive victim at that location. An autopsy revealed that 29-year-old Jordan had been shot three times and died of those injuries. There is security camera footage capturing the incident in its entirety. Witnesses identified Anderson as the alleged shooter.
