Detectives Begin Investigation in Morning Shooting

On Oct. 10, at approximately 10:59 a.m., Northern District patrol officers responded to an area hospital for a walk-in victim seeking treatment.

Once at the hospital, Baltimore Police Department officers located a 52-year-old male victim suffering from an apparent graze wound to the left arm. The victim is listed in stable condition.

Preliminary investigations revealed that on today’s date at approximately 7:55 a.m., the victim stated he was walking on West 21st Street and Maryland Avenue when he was approached by a suspect with a handgun, who demanded property. The victim then began to struggle for the gun when he was shot. The suspect fled in an unknown direction.

Eastern District Shooting detectives responded to the scene and assumed control of the investigation.
