On Sept. 12, Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Melissa M. Phinn ruled to continue the hearing for a defendant charged with first-degree murder.
Defense attorney Brandon Patterson was present in reception court to represent the defendant, Ricky Crenshaw. The prosecution had a stand-in for the hearing, asking for the continuance of the hearing so the original prosecutor could be present. No plea offer was made by the prosecution.
The new hearing date is scheduled for Oct. 6, with Judge Phinn set to preside and schedule the date for his trial.
Crenshaw, 46, is charged with first-degree murder, firearm use in a felony violent crime, firearm possession in a felony crime, possession of an assault weapon, and possession of a firearm without a serial number.
According to CBS News Baltimore, Crenshaw is charged in relation to the murder of Terence Cheatam, on the 2100 block of Edmondson Avenue back in March. He reportedly shot the victim after an argument. Crenshaw, at the time, was being held in custody for a separate crime when he was charged for Cheatam’s murder.
