On Aug. 25, Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Melissa M. Phinn set a trial date for a defendant who is accused in the 2013 murder of Antonio Mays.
The defendant, Brandon Brown, appeared in reception court on Aug. 25 with his defense attorney Robert D. Cole Jr. to receive his trial date. Since no plea was offered by the prosecution, Judge Phinn moved forward and scheduled his trial date for Oct. 14.
According to District Court of Maryland documents, Mays was fatally shot on the 1000 block of Valley Court on Sept. 8, 2013. Brown was later identified by witnesses at the scene and arrested in relation to the shooting.
Brown, 34, is charged with first-degree murder, conspiracy to commit first-degree murder, use of a firearm in a violent felony crime and firearm possession with a felony conviction.
