Judge Schedules Trial Date for 2022 Attempted Murder Defendant

A 2022 attempted murder defendant rejected a plea offer before Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Melissa M. Phinn on June 6.

The prosecutor offered defendant Reginald Allen life, suspending all but 30 years, with five years of supervised probation for attempted first-degree murder; a concurrent sentence of 20 years, the first five without the possibility of parole, for firearm use in a felony violent crime ; a concurrent 10 years, the first five without the possibility of parole, for firearm possession with a felony conviction; a concurrent three years for having a handgun on his person.

Judge Phinn set the defendant’s three-day trial for Sept. 19 before Judge Jeffery M. Geller.

Allen, 38, is charged with first and second-degree attempted murder, first and second-degree assault, firearm use in a felony violent crime, three counts of firearm possession with a felony conviction, three counts of illegal firearm possession, possession of a firearm in a controlled dangerous substance offense, reckless endangerment, firing a gun in Baltimore City, illegal ammunition possession, having a gun within 100 yards of a park, having a gun within 100 yards of a committed crime, and having a handgun on his person in connection to an incident on June 26, 2022.
