Baltimore City Man Pleads Guilty to Benzinger Road Shooting Assault

On June 21, a defendant and his defense attorney, Marc L. Zayon accepted a plea offer for his involvement in 2022 incident.

Jaleel Bradway was charged with first-degree assault, second-degree assault, reckless endangerment, firearm use in a felony violent crime, and discharging a firearm.

Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Chares H. Dorsey sentenced the 29-year-old defendant to 20 years, suspending all but five years, five years without the possibility of parole, and three years supervised probation for use of a firearm during a felony violent crime and a concurrent five years for first-degree assault.

Bradway had previously rejected a plea offer for 25 years, suspending all but 14 for first-degree assault and an additional 20 years, suspending all but five without the possibility of parole, with five years supervised probation for firearm use in a violent crime to be served concurrently.

According to charging documents, on Oct. 29. 2022, patrol officers were dispatched to the 4000 block of Benzinger Road. Upon arrival, police officers spoke to a witness told them they saw Bradway shoot a man following a verbal dispute and strike another man in the face with his hand.
