Shooting Homicide Investigation Underway in Central District

On May 20, at approximately 12:20 a.m., Central District officers with the Baltimore Police Department (BPD) responded to the 700 block of Pennsylvania Avenue to investigate a report of a shooting.

Upon arrival, officers observed 31-year-old Kenneth Lyde unresponsive and suffering from a gunshot wound to his chest. Medics transported the victim to an area hospital where despite life-saving measures, he was later pronounced deceased.

Homicide detectives responded and assumed control over this investigation.
