Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Melissa Copeland scheduled a homicide defendant’s trial in September due to the prosecutor being out sick on May 16.
Defense counsel Marc Zayon also informed the court that he is not prepared for trial due to recently receiving evidence and having not been able to go over it with his client.
Leond Hill, 54, is charged with first-degree murder, use of a firearm during a felony violent crime, having a handgun on his person and and having a handgun in a vehicle in connection to the murder of 40-year-old Elaine Jackson on the 1500 block of Washington Boulevard on Oct. 18, 2022.
Hill and Zayon, rejected a plea of life, suspending all but 50 years with five years supervised probation for first-degree murder.
Hill’s trial was scheduled for Sept. 5. It is expected to last five days.
