Northwest District Detectives Seek Answers in Wakefield Road Shooting Homicide

On May 10, at approximately 8:35 p.m., Northwest District officers with the Baltimore Police Department (BPD) responded to the 4500 block of Wakefield Road to investigate a report of a shooting.

Upon arrival, officers observed a 29-year-old Darren Lamar Shipley suffering from numerous gunshot wounds to his body. Shipley was transported to an area hospital by medics for treatment of his injuries.

The BPD reported that Shipley later died that day from his injuries.

Northwest District shooting detectives responded and assumed control over this investigation.
