Detectives Report Homicide Shooting Victim Found in Car in Southwest District

On April 9, at approximately 11:33 p.m., Southwest District officers with the Baltimore Police Department (BPD) were on patrol, when they heard gunshots near the 300 block of South Beechfield Avenue.

Officers canvassed the area and observed a vehicle, crashed into a fence. Officers located 40-year-old Jammie Higginbothom inside the vehicle, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Officers rendered aid to the victim and he was transported to University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center, where he was pronounced deceased.

Homicide detectives responded and assumed control over the investigation.
